DBT Payment Not Received? What to Check First
Your DBT benefit — LPG subsidy, scholarship, pension — was supposed to arrive and did not. Before you panic or visit three offices, work through this checklist. Most "missing" DBT payments turn out to be one of these.
1. Is your Aadhaar actually seeded and active?
Check your seeding status on uidai.gov.in or base.npci.org.in. If it shows inactive or unmapped, the payment had nowhere to go. Fix it at your bank branch with the seeding consent form, then wait for the mapper to update.
2. Is the right account mapped?
Only one account is the active DBT destination per Aadhaar. If you opened a new account or seeded a different one later, the money may have gone to the older or newer account — not the one you check daily. The mapper shows the last linked account; your bank can confirm the active one.
3. Is your mobile number current with Aadhaar?
An outdated mobile number breaks OTP verification everywhere — status checks, bank updates, everything. Update it at an Aadhaar enrollment center if you changed numbers.
4. Was the scheme's beneficiary list updated?
DBT goes only to verified beneficiaries. If your name dropped off a scheme's list (census updates, re-verification drives, documentation issues), the payment was never initiated. Check with the department running the scheme, not just your bank.
5. Timing and bank processing
Government payment files move in batches. A payment "released" by a department can take a few working days to hit your account. Check your passbook and the scheme's payment status page before concluding it is lost.
What not to do
Do not pay any "agent" to release your DBT payment, do not share your Aadhaar OTP with callers claiming to be from the bank or government, and do not enter your Aadhaar on unofficial "DBT status check" websites. Real help comes from your bank branch and the scheme's official helpline. Start from our DBT link check guide if you are new to all this.
हिंदी सारांश: पेमेंट न आए तो पहले सीडिंग स्टेटस, सही खाता, और आधार में मोबाइल नंबर चेक करें। किसी एजेंट को पैसे न दें और OTP किसी से साझा न करें।
