How to Check Your Aadhaar-Bank Seeding Status Online
Wondering whether your Aadhaar is properly linked for DBT payments? Here is the exact process on the official portals — it takes a few minutes and costs nothing.
Option 1: UIDAI bank mapper (website)
- Go to uidai.gov.in and find "Check Aadhaar/Bank Seeding Status."
- Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number (or 16-digit Virtual ID) and the captcha code.
- Click "Send OTP" — a code goes to the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar.
- Enter the OTP and submit. The screen shows whether your Aadhaar is mapped and the bank name.
Two things to know: it only displays the last account linked, and the service only works if your mobile number is registered with Aadhaar. If you have multiple accounts, confirm the active one with your bank.
Option 2: NPCI BASE portal
Visit base.npci.org.in, choose the citizen option for checking seeding status, and complete the same Aadhaar + OTP verification. This shows the bank name, whether mapping is active or inactive, and the last updated date — handy when a payment is delayed and you want to see if something changed recently.
Option 3: USSD on your phone
Dial *99*99*1# from your Aadhaar-registered mobile, enter your Aadhaar number, and confirm. No smartphone or internet needed.
If the status shows inactive or unmapped
Visit your bank's home branch with your Aadhaar and submit the seeding consent form — the branch links the account and updates the NPCI mapper. Then re-check after the update propagates. And if a payment still has not arrived, run through our DBT payment troubleshooting checklist. Back to the DBT guide.
